Transducer Mounting

Hello all, What is the best way to mount the depth finder transducer on a fiberglass boat that has the foam/fiberglass core? Is it best to mount on a plate or just to bolt through.

Either is acceptable. However, if you mount on a plate, if you change transducers at a future time you will not have holes in the transom that do not line up with the new transducer mount to be of concern.

Here is a general guide for mounting transducers.
