Hey guys. This weekend I'm doing a sea-trial on the boat I'm buying a 2004 Sea Hunt C.C. Triton.
I'm also buying a new trailer for this boat from the marina thats selling the boat. The reason why I'm buying a new trailer is because I'm putting it in the payment. The less money I have to put out the better. Or I would buy a used one. So my question is, the boat weighs 2000 lbs.
The yamaha 150 outboard weighs 400 lbs. correct me if I'm wrong, and I will probably have other weight added on in gear. Load Rite is the trailer and they make one rated for 2700 lbs. that one he says is $1850.00.
The next one up is rated for 3100 lbs. that one is $2150.00. Do you think I can get away with the 2700 lb. one and save $300.00. Even if boat, motor, and gear added up to 2650 lbs. shouldn't I still be safe? There has to be a little room for error if I were to go over 2700 lbs. by 25 or 50 lbs. right? Thanks for your help.
