Reel Class Good Friday Flounder Report 4/10
« on: April 10, 2009, 07:50:00 PM »
First trip of the year.. Had Bob Timmons, Steve Magyari, Bob Cameron and Shawn Mullen aboard.

Started off with a drop in the river, 1 bite in one hour, a lot of shmeg even on the incoming and ice cold water, and zero fish so we headed for the bay.

Set up in the BD Creek channel, sat there for another hour and a half, zero bites.. So, we continued south and made a drop S of the bridge. Small fleet assembled there, and we almost immediately bagged our first fish of the year, a keeper taken by Bob C. Picked another fish there until the end of the incoming and slack sputtered the bite out.

Made a little wiggle when the wind shifted SE and the current started outgoing, and got a very slow pick going as the outgoing got moving. Put a few more in the box, then made another move back to the N to a tidal flat, and Bob T put a nice 2#er in the box and another nicer fish was boxed. Finished the day in the E channel with 1 more in the box.

We wound up with an even 10 keepers in the box, a few fish dropped, and some swings and misses. Steve was high hook with 5, Bob C had 4. At best we had a slow pick, but there's a nice spread of fish around so when the water temps warm a bit, these fish should have the chew bags on! Great crew, great way to start the year - couldn't ask for more  chrz
