Romers and 20 can
« on: April 24, 2009, 08:01:07 PM »
Fished with Witches Bru, my sister Gail and Skunk.  Dropped outside the ammo pier with marks but no takers.  Chummed for a while then moved off to the shoal where as soon as the anchor is locked down and bait is in the water, Sis is working her stick.  Fun watching her do her thing. Boy does she love to fish.  A 24" is returned for another day and just as quickly my TICA takes off.  Another short.  We thought we were really on to it.  Turned ice cold in a flash.  Chummed for another hour.  Headed into the bay.  Stopped by Old Orchard.  Plenty of boats, no bent poles and only a few scattered marks.  Ended the day around the 20 can in 23ft. Wind starting to blow up against the tide.  We dropped lines right at the side of the boat.  It was senseless trying toss them anywhere given the swing on the hook.
Two more shorts just shy of keep came over the rail then the skates showed up.  Thought I had a decent cow bass that decided to hang on the bottom only to find out that a Bullnose Ray was hungry too!

Beautiful day on the water.  Fishing wasn't the best but enjoyed it none the less.

Nice report Pilot. At least you did have some action and had a beautiful day on the water weather wise.  t^

Capt Joe G,

Heavy concentration in Romer's. Lighter inside the bay.
