First trip this year. Me, my dad, my son, and son's friend headed out with a bushel to see what was around. The day started very slow, and all we caught was skates at the first 3 drops. We started in the west end and worked our way out until we found some fish at Old Orchard. There was a charter anchored right on my numbers there so I moved off to the side a little, and another boat came and anchored next to me. The bite got hot here for a while with all three boats hooked up. It lasted about an hour and we got 2 keepers to go with some shorts. I hooked a nice 36" and let my sons friend reel it in. He had a rough time as he is not a fishing person, but he stuck it out and got it to the net. When he saw the fish he was screaming Holy@##$ as he never caught anything that big. Tried one more spot after the action died, but we never found any more fish. I did tail hook a giant skate that felt like I was reeling in a whale. It was a good day out and we got some fresh fish for dinner, so hopefully it will be a good season.
