Made way to the grounds were we found the big fish on Monday this morning after fueling up at AH and a quick search for the bunks. There were marks in the harbor but all sitting on the bottom. Trebles just didn't do the trick today. The bait was not very thick so we made a fast exit with clams in tow.
Anchored up outside the Knoll in 22ft around 8:30. A pick of bluefish and just short stripes ensued. Skunk boated the loan keeper taping out a 33". Meanwhile Nick B. AKA "the Egyptian" (he only uses pyramid sinkers) and myself tangled with our share of bluefish and stripes at 24-27.5"
We finished the day with 7 bass and roughly 20 blues that kept us entertained hoping for a couple more Stripes for the box. Just wasn't going to be.
Weather turned out to be favorable with an early morning fog that kept moving in and out until it burned off by early afternoon.
Nice day.
