Striper fishing
« on: May 19, 2009, 02:44:49 PM »
Hey, I'm hearing about chumming for stripers. Never done it. Do I just get a bushel of clams, smash them up and throw them in my chum bag? Please explain if anyone knows the best way. And can I use frozen clams, salted, etc. Please be specific so I can be productive on the water next Monday out of Manasquan. I'm bringing a non-fisherman friend and I want to show off. hhppy rofla

I usually do two things

1. Have a chum pot or bag with frozen clamm bellies that I lower to the bottom.

2. Smash clams over the side of the boat. Normally I bring 1 1/2 or 2 Bussel. I chum real heavy when i first start.

I do not shuck my clams for bait until I get to where i am going, this way I throw those shells over the side as chm also.

Good Luck TT^
