Late start, watching the weather radar from 5-10AM, loaded up clams with Chris(tine) and Chris(Cooch)and made a left after the sailboats to try to limit exposure to NNW wind and chop. Not much noted, 2-3 boats set up near Great Beds, no real traffic. It got progressively calmer as we continued west.
Some nice marks on the sounder hugging the red side approaching the RR bridge. Real nice marks nearing the GSP bridge, set up on a bloop near the channel edge maybe 300yds clear of the bridge. Chummed some clams, jiggged some metals, could not get a bite. Stuck it out chumming as the incoming flooded. The marks disappeared and so did we. Heading back east we threw the hook at a promising spot closer to home to sample the outgoing but the wind continued and we were not holding. Dropping back we got a better bite, but it was still whipping. Noted more marks and chummed for another hour or so; talked with Eddie Hunter2 who snuck out after us and made for SI to cheat the wind. He wasn't doing much at the time and a little barking from Chris was all it took to get YSA in gear and make for the slip around 1700. OONGOTS
