Capt.Ron/Fishermen/Saturday/Worst day this season!
« on: May 23, 2009, 03:46:58 PM »
Great group of guys on board today for their annual SKANSKA fishing trip.

After yesterday thought a dozen nice fish when conditions got right wouldn't be a problem, man was I wrong! Tide changed (outgoing).... on came a SE breeze against, you can imagine the horror as the tide only ran harder and the breeze turned into WIND! Didn't matter where we went, conditions and lack of a bite, even on the bluefish, made it one of the worst trips so far this season! Will give it hell tomorrow....capt.ron

Ron

All you can do is give it your best....can't control the conditions or the bite

Have one for me

Right with you Captain...went out today also...trolled for two hours from Princess Bay to Old Orchard...some nice marks but thats it...Headed across the bay slowly(5 to 10, 1ft waves my A--!) got to Jamaica Bay (JFK)figured it would be calmer with the east wind...it was..plenty of bunker but nothing on them! was marking fish they just weren't biting! all day  one short.bite the tail off..run-off! swong over to The Silver Hole, nothin happening except a bunch of people, on a small boat stuck on a sandbar getting pulled off by SeaTow! across the bay to Hoffman Island with the live bunker...nothin...back towards the triangle...nothin! bad.bad.windy stinkin day! I need another bottle of Jack! chrz
