boat launch in belmar
« on: May 27, 2009, 04:02:05 PM »

has anyone launched a boat out of the belmar area?

any help/comments with costs and what to look for would be much appreciated.  normally fish out of sandy hook down to shrewsbury rocks.

seems all the big bass activity has been in the belmar/pt pleasant area recently.  so i'm gonna play hooky tomorrow and give it a shot down there during the week.

thanks folks.

Only two choices the municipal ramp and bry;'s ramp.  Teh municipal is on the south side and you need to go to the Fishermans Den to get 4 tokens for the gate.  Ramp does not have a lot of pitch at the bottom and if the tide is out you will need to climb up a concrete wall.  (has a ladder).  Has a fish cleaning station as well.

Bry's is on the north side of the river on grand concourse.  You need to stop at Mac's bait and tackle and get a ramp key/pass.  You have to leave a deposit which you get back when you return the key or if he is closed you put in a box at the ramp and get your credit on the next trip.  No fish cleaning at Bry's and parking can be a little tight.  A better ramp but it has a lot of current on the incoming and outgoing.  If the tide is 1/2 down or more I can go under the bridge in the north channel and not go around by the municipal.

Hope that helps.   There is a third ramp back in shark river hills but I do not know anything about it.

I may be going tomorrow. Will get there late, about 11. My intention is to stop after breaking the inlet. If I do not see anything south, it is north for me.

Lately, there has been bunker right outside the inlet. Bass around Asbury. Good luck.  t^
