Strathmere report, 5/25
« on: May 26, 2009, 09:05:30 PM »
Made the run to strathmere tonight with my friend laura who has been bugging me to fish with her for a few months now. we hit CISP and plugged the ocean end around to the inlet with no bumps or hits, watched some guys having a field day with the snapper blues off the dock. As I was talking to Chris from Ocean City Tackle Laura yelled for me to come help her then I hear OH **** turns out she almost landed a monster fluke but it spit the hook..

We headed for my honey hole in strathmere and put some salt clams in the water.. Straight FOG everywhere...When I waded in to cast out her rod (she forgot her waders, I still had mine) she could barely see me.

Well 15 minutes in, Laura's rod doubled over and she set the hook. landed a nice 28" bass 5 minutes later. I had a good whack on mine but I missed the fish.

We missed alot of the incoming tide which is the key to fishing this hole my buddy's grandfather regularly bails bass from.
On the way up we ran into my friend JR from another site and fished off a bridge with him and his crew for a bit, cleaned up the bass and headed home. JR, great to finally link up with ya and fish dude.

Either way it was a good night, still have yet to find my keeper but now that I know its a night bite as well as an early morning bite at Strathmere Ill probably hit that hole again sometime soon after these storms blow through.

Laura with her fish -

Me with laura's fish, she was kind enough to let me get a picture with it so it looks like I AT LEAST CAUGHT SOMETHING.... we called it a team effort since I made her cast for her.
Young and love fishing...

Willing to do weekend work on a boat spring/summer 09 fishing season... have references!
