fish cutting table
« on: April 01, 2007, 03:47:24 PM »
I am in desprate need of a new fish cleaning table for my back yard does anyone have any ideas ,I was just at the price club and they had a 6 ft. plastic table for 50 bucks and I was thinking I could put a strip of wood across the center w/ a long bolt at each end w/ wingnuts to tighten down and put a couple stainless screws in the wood to tighten down on the fish heads ,how do you think this will work.

Catfish,

I made new fillet tables for my dock last year. Went to a local building site and picked up the Corian sink cutouts from the contractor. Then made the frames out of Walminized 2x4's. Made two tables for about $40. ;D

i think you might possibly have an issue with your knife digging into the soft plastic table.

i've got the same thing as captbob, but a 2'x4' piece of corian and rigged a frame for it. best damn filet table i have ever used
All your tuna's are belong to me

Catfish

YEs the Walminized wood holds up great and the sink cutout I used are about 24"x32" plenty big enough...........I tacked the Corian down with liquid nails and will just pop it off if we have to change the wood ;D ;)

I just recently read in a magazine about a guy that converted on old ironing board into his fillet table.  Bolted plywood to the top.
