Tuckerton 5/30
« on: May 30, 2009, 03:29:19 PM »
Headed north of LEI in search of bunker. It was pretty much lifeless all the way to Ship bottom.

Had a few marks deep off the red tower so we trolled a bunker spoon  and a strech thru the area. Also drifted and jigged metals. No hits at all.

Went inside the bay off the fish factory and around the inlet to drift for fluke and got nothing.

There were some birds diving on bait on a rip in the inlet, figured we'd have some fun with blues but nothing was harassing the bait.  5hrug. Threw metals and got nothing.

Another skunk in the boat today.

Yea.. from what I hear.. they are not having the best bunker action that far.. Tim from Capt mikes took the long haul the other day to seaside.. only to catch one striper..  the bite has died down in the area..

Try an anchor up clam slick on the start of the out going in grassing channel..  They like to hang there grabbing what coming out of it..  I don't speak this from actually succeeding at it myself when i was there.. but I know some that have.

I had been trying clamming but just got tons of dogfish and skates.
