Fishguts 6/8 Barnegat Bay report
« on: June 09, 2009, 09:58:21 AM »
I ran solo looking to poke around and try to locate some Good numbers of fluke in the bay. Reports are  coming in from North and South of really good bites happening. I never did find any spots with real good numbers, kinda like a slow grind. A few fish here and there. I fished the incoming and stayed pretty close to Oyster Creek. I did not do much up in the shallows on fluke, but I did see the first real nice showing of white bait(spearing) in the shallows and also a very nice spread of good size blues. I finished the morning with a nice catch of blues and 2 keeper fluke(24" and 22") out of 16 caught.

I would deny it if it was lol ;D We never get stuck, we just may be fishing very skinny water waiting for the incoming tide bite ;D  I passed on fishing this morning to do a little maintenance. Did you get hit with the rain?

Bayonne,

The weakies have been around since before Mother's Day.  In fact, I just caught a 1/2 dozen of them this afternoon.  All were keeper size but were released. t^

 whs

On the rain issue,  we got hammered here in Toms River.  I had to siphon off water from the pool twice today.  :P

I was listening to some boat traffic and I could not believe tha amout of guys that went out this morning.  Sea Tow seemed busy...
