Raritan Bay Fluking 6/8
« on: June 08, 2009, 07:38:34 PM »
out of Sayreville this morning at 6:30 with regular fishing buddies John and Dave. smelts, spearing and squid were the tasty treats for the day we had to offer the flatties.fished the river first,no takers so we moved outside, the bay was flat, calm and no breeze, the incoming tide didn't offer us much of a drift, fished for what seemed like forever with out getting a hit.we didn't start getting action until the tide changed to the out going and a wind against tide situation, not a lot of action but getting good sized fish, actually the ratio of shorts to keepers was about  2 to 1.all fish caught way back bay.ended up with 6 keepers,2 21 inchers a 20,a 19 and 2 18 inchers.was still getting some action when decided to come in at 2:30 because it was starting to rain a little, but it didn't amount to anything.day started bad,but ended up decent with the late bite.great to get out and catch some fish, will try again later in the week.     Kez
