Tuckerton 6/14
« on: June 14, 2009, 04:10:30 PM »
With striking out on stripers all spring my brother in law Dave and I decided to give fluking a serious effort this week.

It was with high hopes I stocked up on Gulp, 20lb floro, 4/0 Owners and a few 1/2 to 2oz Spro's and 15lb ower Pro at my local sporting goods store...plus a 7' St Croix spinner that I shouldn't have bought... ;)

Left my place at 4:30AM, looking back as I locked my front door, I see the tip of one of my favorite St Croix baitcasters in the closed door...luckily no damage after a close inspection.

I'm almost to Dave's house when I realize I left the bag with all the tackle I just bought back at my house...too late to turn back >:(

More high hopes as we pick up coffee and a couple of subs at quick check and hit the road.

Got to the marina at 6:30, it's overcast with a pretty stiff NE wind.

Tried several spots in Little Egg and Great Bay's in anywhere from 6' to 42'...fast drift...slow drift...wind aginst tide...tried Killies, squid, spearing, bucktails, gulp, shad darts.

Two words..."skunked again".
