I had a charter cancell at the last minute today so I figured I would nail my to do list and then seek out the mother load of bay fluke.I did good on my list and not so good on the fluke. Sat and Sun I ran some wreck trips with stops in the bay in the afternoon. The ocean wreck fishing has been outstanding with drop and reel fishing on most good bottom. Some out of season
13" and 14" jumbo porgies have started to show on the shallow stuff.I am sure they will be gone by July 1st like the do every year. The stops in the bay have been a slow pick. I have not been able to locate any good numbers of fluke. Just a few here and there with an occasional keeper. With some free time and good conditions I set out in the early afternoon. A dozen shorts later and a few spots removed from my charts (for being devoid of life) I still have not located any good numbers. A few thing I have notice...incoming temp has been higher this season....I have not caught a fluke in under 6 feet of water and most have come out of 9 feet. A running tide has shut down what little bite we had going even when we still have a good drift. O well they can only hide so long and when we locate them watch out. I am so looking forward to the first triple digit hit of the season.Good luck to all and catch em up
