Irish Ayes catch up reports
« on: June 15, 2009, 06:38:50 PM »
Been busy around here and didn't have much time to get on the puter a lot lately. Had my bro-in-law and his wife in from Arizona the past two weeks.

Here is a quick report on the past few days.

Saturday we were in the JCAA tourney and fished out of Shark River Port. Tried three spots we normally get bigger fish, all six+ miles off the beach. Nothing but dog fish, big dog fish at that.  :P Moved to the Rattlesnake, some keeper fluke, some throw backs and some seabass, some humpbacks, some throw backs. Moved inshore some. Needed 16 ounces to hold bottom.  cfzd Moved south about a mile and held with 8 ounces.  5hrug

Sunday, three of us out catching bunker. Capt Mike, Pete and I. Didn't get the bass bite until 630pm. First time bass fisherman Pete was amazed when he brought in a 25 pounder. That didn't last long. He was immediately super amazed when he boated a 38 pounder.  TT^ We had a third and lost 6 others. Too much boat traffic and idjit boat operators for my liking.

Today, went bunker hunting and tried two drifts for fluke. Caught some short fluke, one keeper. The keeper was 5 1/2 pounds and would have taken a place in the JCAA tourney on Saturday. Oh well.  :P

Will be out again tomorrow if the weather holds up.
