Flukin near the Keyport 1 can Fri 7/3
« on: July 04, 2009, 11:51:51 AM »
Had a small window to get out for a bit yesterday with Christine. Gas n go, headed out for some of the incoming.
Nice day, first drift started upwards onto a lump going from 21 to 14’. Christine musta hit the first one on the head with her bucktail- literally on immediately as she first hit bottom but it was just short. I followed with what looked to be a nice fish that we lost at the net.
Slid back and west a bit to drift thru a hole, Christine switched to dragging bait while I continued to bucktail. My rod doubled over, smack, felt like a blue or bird for sure. It was almost taking drag as I wangled it over to the net-- imagine my surprise at a nice fat 20”er flappin around had DINNER written all over it. Back in time to duck under the bridge (barely.)  Cleaned up, chatted with mboy at the dock for a bit, then home for saute with white wine and garlic butter yummmmm. Maybe get back out there later for some more if the starz align….
