Headed towards the edge of the reef where I had some action last week. We stopped at some birds working near Chapel Hill on the way out and there were 2lb blues on every cast. We kept a couple for strip bait and caught a few more for fun and went fluking. Over all a slow day with a fast drift as I made one long drift from the reef down past the rocks. There were schools of bunker all over all day. While the fishing was slow my son was snagging some for strips and some for crabbing. He is just as happy catching a bunker as a fluke anyway. I saw a couple of the pods get busted by something, so I rigged up a livie and let him swim through - Nothing. We did manage 3 keeper fuke and 5 seabass with some throwbacks, so at least we have fresh fish for dinner.
