Fluking 7/18
« on: July 19, 2009, 09:35:33 AM »
out of Sayreville with fishing buddy Dave before day break, hit the open bay and had calm water,so decided to head for the hook, made first stop at the TC Buoy and started drifting, wind blowing and a very fast drift with the out going, only had one hit which was lost, moved out into the Sandy Hook channel but couldn't hold bottom with 8 and 10 oz wgts, moved into lower water and tried but wind blowing and some swells coming over the bow, this wasn't for me,decided to come in and fish back bay,I got out quick but now I got a dusty road almost all the way back, didn't flatten out for me to stay dry until past Keansburg, tried area 1 can on the flats, nothing here, moved back to the Triangle area and fished the channel the NY side, found a area we were steady picking fish, picked a almost 22 incher that went a bit over 3 1/2 lbs and also a 19 incher that went back because I'm in NY water.was trying for a big one today,we were fishing the Local Legion  tournament.stayed out and picked a few more but no keepers, headed in at 2,was having old Army buddy and wife from Fla. coming early afternoon and staying over, have 3 more coming today for reunion.when I got back to town stopped and weighed my fish in,you never know,I've seen smaller fish place in the money.it weighed in at 3.66 lbs and 21 and 3/8 inches.found out later a 9 lber took top prize.out to dinner with Army buddy and wife.then spent the night outside around a wood fire along with Jack Daniels and lots of stories, will be more of the same today.  Kez

Fine report Kez  TT^  You surely made the most of some tough conditions.. I feared that west wind would make things sloppy in the bay..I had enough of that last week  rgmn    since i did'nt have much of a window to  fish this weekend, i decided to pass.. Sorry you did'nt get your $$$  fish..but ya had nice action,  fun with the buddies, and put some meat in da box.. sounds like a great weekend !   chrz

Nice report and nice catch!  Not bad for tough conditions.  Too bad you were out of the money.
