Flyin solo yesterday, got a call from the wife that they were doing terrorist drills near the Veranzano so altered my plans a bit. Stayed in the body of the Ambrose fixin to find some more marks. Worked a couple of areas that produced fish right away. On the third bite, had my first boxed one at 19". Stayed in the area till fish number 8 and went on the hunt for new territory to see if some larger ones were around. Found a good body of fish on the NY side of the channel further toward the outside which produced 10 more fish with another 19" in the mix. Outgoing started to pour out pretty good and had that crankin wind starting to blow. Resorted to a couple more drifts with some decent slide across the channel but required heavy weight to hold. Managed one more keep at 20". Ended the day with 26 fish many in the 17.5 range. Bait of choice today was Pnutz then followed closely by killies. Fair amount of Lionel Ritches
made it to the bait but there were fluke amongst them. Traditional rigging with gulp, squid strip or not, topped with the candy
Till next time.
