YSA Fluke 8/7
« on: August 08, 2009, 09:19:24 AM »
I played hooky yesterday, slept late, and out around 10 looking for flatfish. There was action right away on the flats, but you guessed it, shorts, as the outgoing combined with the wind for a fast drift. Went over to the Triangle area more of the same. Fun, but no dinner.

I got the call from MamaBear that she was bringing lunch, so I motored back and picked her up. Out to the Reach we flew for some tube steaks on the grill and more drifts where I hooked her up with, yep, more shorts.

She only had a few hours free, so I dropped her back about 4ish. Being the great husband I am told her "Let me just fish a few hours of the incoming..." That's when the trouble started, j/k.

So I headed out for the 3rd time that day to a couple spots that produced keepers recently. First spot 2 drifts, no life. Moved back to the flattyhole and game on again but nothing over 18".

Fish hit Buckies, Gulp, Killies, pnutz, squid, spearing you name it, I was gonna throw a clam belly on but that's just silly. Caught fish on almost every drift except for that one spot. Again no real size to the fish; gonna move east next time to see if I can change that.
