YSA Fluke 8/12
« on: August 13, 2009, 05:14:31 PM »
Met Tombo aka "Skunk" at the boat around 5PM for a quick trip. Slightly snotty bay, with light rain and notsolight wind on the way to the reach. Wind was NE, 8oz to hold, we picked at shorts on the channel edges. Tom had a fatty flatty that just missed the mark; it was tough to let go, he was way heavier than the svelte 19"er I kept the other day. Moved over to Keansburg area as the sun set, but that drift was about 3kt to the west. Headed in and had a few sodas, Tom was happy, even though we got no keepers, he wasn't skunked. Fresh robbin strips outproduced killies, squid, sand eels, and Gulp grubs, but outproduced is perhaps not the right word...
