Raritan Bay Fluking 8/18
« on: August 18, 2009, 02:46:43 PM »
out of Sayreville this morning at the crack of dawn with fishing buddy John.headed straight for the 14 can in the reach and started there, excellent drift conditions all morning, gradually working our way from here all the way up to the 4 can.we had a slow pick of shorts all morning only putting one in the box just over the 18 mark.it got hot out there, and I don't mean the fishing.knowing it was going to be hot, plan was on early off early, headed in around 11:45.great to get out today, not to many days left in the season,NY waters now closed for the season.will give a try later in the week.   Kez

Nice job!  It is hot out there, even at 1145, I bet.  Crazy nts, the NY Season is closed already.

Ranger, there are a few piers up in Monmouth County you can try:

NJ Pier Locations

There are also some places along the Raritan that you can fish on the shore.  Some of the Monmouth County Sharpies will chime in and let you know...I have heard several places, but have no experience with them, so I will let them tell you about them.
