Took a friend out to the park today. He's new to fishing and has only been out on a party boat a couple times, never on the sand.
The wind was blowing good out of the northeast and the surf was rough.  Despite that the water was pretty clean.  But the surf and wind made things tough, especially for the rookie.  We tried a couple spots and threw bucktails, mullet, bunker, etc.  Not a single hit.
Moved down to the inlet at about slack high tide.  Had a few hits, but only landeed a small sea bass and i think a small porgy.  Oh...and we pulled up a starfish after trying to undo a snag.
Slow day and rough conditions, but it was sunny and we had a good time with an old friend.

That's all that matters!  Good try out there.

Good going Chris.  Old friends are the best add that to fishing and the combination can't be beat.  t^ grtn
