Gulp! for Sharks
« on: June 14, 2007, 10:23:47 PM »
Hi All,

I met the Regional Manager for Gulp! products ar Fisherman's Supply today. For all you fans of Gulp!, he said that they used Gulp! products as bait for the South Jersey Shark Tournament last week and hooked at least 8 blue sharks and a few other species with Gulp! sheets.

Go figure!

Hi Hareball,

Yes ... they have done a good job with the scents, shapes and colors.

They are also running a nice special. Two (2) packages usually costs about $14. They have a $5 rebate if you buy more than $10 worth of stuff. You can fill out 2 rebates per day. Also, Sports Authority has a 50% discount going on now on some of the packages.

So, people use 5" glo shrimp with the corresponding scent, etc. The scent is suppose to last longer than if you soaked bait or a lure in bunker or shedder crab oil (which I almost always do).

I have a ton of packs in different shapes, sizes, colors and scents but I seem never to use it. It has become backup if I ever run out of bait. Many folks have good luck with it.

One other good thing. It is biodegradable.

Thanks,

Ed

It is the best type of bait to keep in your tackel box.  1 piece will last you 5 fish or more.  I swear by it.  I wasn't a believer until late last season.  Just for kicks and giggles I tried it, WHAM, out produced everything I threw in the water.

Hi Guys,

hareeball, I am thinking about buying a small tool chest with those slide out draws and neet compartments.  Spraying the insides with Rino stuff and leaving it in the back of my Expedition.  Right now I have too many different boxes I forget where I put stuff, this way I can label the draws and know where everything is.

I just picked up a couple of packages of 4" gulp Pogy baits to hang on a white and red bucktail jigs.  Now if the weather would cooperate.

sounds like a plan, paul t^
lately i've been buying the plastic cases and throwing everything in a few duffle bags. the bags are from the fishing seminar in AC and one from boaters world, they wipe clean with a damp cloth.

What size hooks would you use with that bait?
