....well, that was the target.
As I sat at the helm drinking my coffee and watching the driving rain I said to myself, "Maybe I shoulda stayed in bed...." and "maybe I'll just head back home..." and that turned into "maybe I'll finish my coffee and see what the weather does..." so I did. And the band of rain petered out.
So, since I'm already here, and got bait, and all shaped up, let's just head out for a little while and see what's up.
Went to a few well known weakie hangouts in and around the Reach, saw someone already at the ## ro%&*ile. Tried drifting some worms, got 2 hookups but no landings. A tad snotty out there once I got past the Keyport 1. I guess the E wind was not blocked by the hook at all out that far. On n off rain. Tossing and turning got old with limited action so moved over to Conaskonk where it was much calmer. Marked some fish in shallow water; tried jigging and clamming the incoming, either not there or not hungry. Decided to pull the plug around 10:30, cleaned up by 11. Water temp was 65 in the reach and environs, 66 off Conaskonk on the incoming.
They are coming.....
