YSA in the Soup 10/4
« on: October 05, 2009, 03:08:18 PM »
Pea Soup. With croutons.

Out early with Cooch looking for... well, anything. Stayed close, low vis, looking for marks, waiting for the sun to burn off the fog.

Took awhile, moved slowly east, caught sea robbins everywhere and some nice keeper fluke. Yeah right; keepers as in keep them alive and return them to the sea is more like it. Spitting up sand eels, spearing, and the smallest sea robbin I have ever seen- about 2" long and white but unmistakably a robbin.

Saw some birds working, threw pnuts and shiny metals, nada. Not sure what was going on there but it was NOT the bite. Got really nice outside, sun and warm, fog gone around 10-1030 but some weird inversions had fog over the land up to about 50ft high; pretty cool looking. Thought about heading to the Rocks, but decided to go for some football instead. If the fishing was stellar we might have taken the other course but it was not. Talked to Eddie and he was into some blues in close. Another slow day fishin, but fishin nonetheless...

Thanks for the report Warren.  You think it was weird from out there try driving in that slop on the beach.  There was a beautiful sunrise and then it hit.  I am glad I know the beach.  It was thick and chilly.
