RB 10/12
« on: October 12, 2009, 06:38:17 PM »
Hey all  slt Headed out this morning only to see birds working right as we got out of the river.  My buddy mike landed a 10lb blue first cast on a Kroc.  Tried some A27's, swimshads, bucktails NADA nosmly. We moved to the rip right of the hook with live eels for some stripers.  First drop mike is hit hard and sets the hook on a circle hook rgmn and misses a nice striper.  Drifted for about an hour more NADA.  Moved back where we caught the blues before and it was pure mayham!  Birds working everywhere, party boats cutting through everyone to get near them, CRAZYNESS!  Switched to a Kastmaster and started hooking up immediately.  Got about 3 or 4 8+ pound blues a pop and then whipped out the topwater casting close to the surf on my light tackle.  Got hit on second cast, 9lb blue took a while to get in  slt.  We chased the schools for another half hour and called it quits at 2:30.  No stripers  :-\  but boy what a day!
