10/11 Manasquan Albies/Sea Bass
« on: October 11, 2009, 09:13:44 PM »
First time out on my boat in a while. Felt good to get it out again. I planned (with the huge help from you guys) our first Bonito/Albie trip for today. Wanted to get one in on our boat before the season was over.

Ran out to the Manasquan Ridge based on good reports as of late. Set up and trolled north and south on the ridge. 30 min in and our fist runoff. My pops was up first and got about 3/4 of the line back on the reel before it came loose. Gear back in. Another 30min and a hookup, this time I'm up and I showed pops how its done.  5hrug ;D Got our first Albie to the boat. Released. 5 min and another one. Pops took my cue and got this one in. Albie #2. 30 min and I had #3 in the boat.

We decided to run in and do some seabassing and was able to put one nice big fat one in the box, bout 16".

All the action came on a #2 drone spoon, the other lure being a kroc because I though I had a Clark spoon on the boat and did not. Will the kroc work trolled?

Bill, we were at the Monster Ledge, the Oil Wreck and the Arundo. Only heard of a few (very few) being caught.  :P

Oh well, next time.  t^
