Had a half day Striper Charter today, clients were late and we set sail 2 1/2 hrs later than expected. BRight sunshine and calms seas. Caught the last 30 min of incoming.
Started out in the SG Channel with eels and worms, not a touch....had some reads but nothing major. A fleet of around 20 boats were working the area and did not see a net dip. Made a couple calls and got the same that we had experienced.
Slack tide.............deceided to make a run up the Reach Channel.....no readings from the beginning to the 12 can....no bait, no fish.
Slid over to the 11A, had some decent reads....tried clams, eels and worms nothing. Tried jigging and top water, nodda.
Made a move to The Knoll, good read of bait and fish......not a touch
Moved over to the Swash, again good reads of bait and fish...nothing.....could not get them to chew. Not a Striper, not a Blue Fish, not even a Sea Robbin.......time to head back with tail between my legs
From those I talked to pretty much the same story, this is why we love fishing
