Yes the report is late, but better than never.
Tombinator secured a half bushel of the bivalves on his way home from work, so I grabbed some eels, sodas, and ice and met him at the boat around 6.
With the tide what it was we figured we'd either limit out right away or we'd be out for awhile before we could sneak back in....
Beautiful night, made our way to the rips where it was relatively calm, the fleet was over on the other side of the SH channel. Few guys anchored up so it was difficult to drift the right locations. Hooked up with nothin.
Moved over by the fleet to see what the hubbub was all about, still don't know; never saw a net move.
With the eels gone and the Gulp eels doing nothing, we moved over to Romer Shoal by the light (on the NJ side I might add) and anchored up. Chummed heavily, used up all the bait, caught skates. The tide slacked, then started ebbing, so we headed back empty handed.
Maybe sneak out for a bit today/tonight, depends on the "list." Want to give it another shot; probly gonna pull the boat tomorrow. I have help lined up, but gotta head out to Big Blue Land for the motha of all tailgates by around 3:30. Hope they play better than against the 'aints.
Maybe do some trailering if the bite turns on (or hop on with someone hint hint) but I'm in Puerto Rico for work next week then Captiva Island FL week after that for a much needed VACATION see ya out there...
