Ocean Conditions for Monday Opening of Tog Season
« on: November 15, 2009, 11:37:34 AM »
Weather report issued small craft advisory till midnight on Mon.
Anyone near the beach got a view of what the water is like.
Got an e-mail from the Capt. of large party boat out of Pt. Pleasant on Sat. that he will not be sailing on Mon. due to poor conditions.
I suppose that based upon that, I shouldn't look elseware to get out.
It sure is calm and beautiful up north today.

Just left the beach in Mantoloking. Water is still black, as dark as it gets. Ocean is calming down.Surf is still rough at low tide but definitely fishable as a couple of guys were bait fishing. I did see one small boat trolling. It has improved a lot since yesterday. I know the stripers will bite but tog who knows.

May not be good for tog but should be good for stripers.

I took a ride down to the ocean today. The ocean was not bad. The surf was a bit wild. It would have been interesting negotiating the inlet (Shark River) coming back in.

Thanks Guys.
Lots of broken clams for the Stipers for sure.
Dirty beat up water for togs sounds slim.
I was just pumped up for Tog.
I guess I should wait for things to settle down.
Red sky tonight and in the 60s up north tonight.

I will be going out. Haven't made the final decision as to what for. Will see what the crew wants to do in the morning.

I was Striper fishing in from the Raritan down to romer shoal today with no luck. A couple of guys trolled up some Stripers. The water was dead flat. Some rollers were coming in around the Romer shoal area. No wind at all. Im saw the navy ship New York leaving from the Navy base in Leanardo.
