11-15 jigging
« on: November 15, 2009, 11:02:17 PM »
If I listened to the marine forecast, I never would have left the garage today. They called for 6-9. Had a few rollers in the Manasquan inlet, and some long spread out rollers outside. It was beautiful out there- even saw some small inflatable boats. Saw tons of bird action, some fish markings, and we jigged some large blues, though they were few and far between. A wall of boats a near the red buoy, chasing birds. No one was jigging anything up though everyone was working hard. We were lucky to have the action we did. I posted a few fishfinder pics that I could use some help in interpreting. Sometimes I'm not sure what is fish, bait, or whatever. I just got the thing working right last week and could use some help in reading the images. I think there were lots of baitfish, but maybe not alot of fish- I can't explain why no fish were being brought in around us, let alone stripers. I have learned to take the NOAA forecasts with a grain of salt, expecially when they are calling for minimal wind! Thanks...

Thanks for the report.
The first pic looks like bait. The second-lighter single marks, fish.
Sometimes it's really hard to tell.
At least you were out there.
Just my 2 cents.

I may be 100% wrong, but I read the 1st as bass and bait, the second as blues, and the third as blues on top of bass.

Boomerangs = bass / sprinkles OR dots = bluefish

The last one had some real good marks on it - I also like the machine it has a real nice picture
