Pick 3 Pick 1
« on: January 10, 2010, 03:21:38 PM »
Here's a thinking man's game to play that may help stave off some cabin fever.  ;D

Here's how to play:

The season's here and NOAA has determined that you are only allowed to use three lures this year in each area where you might fish (Back bay, Surf, Inshore, and Offshore).  You can have an unlimited supply of each lure, but you cannot change styles.

Which three lures would you choose?  (Pictures get you extra credit.)  ;)

Now, assume the regs just got tighter and you are only allowed one.  Which is it?

First category is back bay.  Here are mine.

1. Yozuri Hydro Popper
2. Gag's Mambo Minnow
3. 3/8 oz. Oldham's Screwlock jighead with 5" Gulp! Jerk Shad (pic is actually a 4" Fin-S, but is visually similar)

Only one would have to be the jighead and Gulp! t^

Interesting PA guys.  Do you really use that deep runner (#2) or is that just a pic of something similar that you throw?  Just curious.

Anybody else want to play?  I think everyone would be interested in what your picks would be.  Somebody (me) might even learn something... ;D

Just choose any category (back bay, surf, inshore, offshore) and let's hear picks. t^

i actually do use it mostly from piers though or sections of deeper surf and dive with it using a lil snapping motion... Worked great for blues atleast for me... every fish that it seemed to see it from underneath and hit it hard

Inshore/bay:

1: 1 1/2 oz white/red Smiling Bill bucktail
2: Ava 27 with no tail
3: 5" FinS

...Then I'd smuggle in a 4" Wild Eye ;)

I thought this was the lottery or something ;D.

1. Gibbs Casting Swimmer
2. AVA
3. Jig head with plastic bait

so let me understand this right...we have nothing to legally fish for and now they have limited me to 1 lure ;D :-*...

It would also have to be a jig head with plastic bait.  Very versatile, can cover pretty much the entire water column and mimic every bait out there!

Great topic BT grtn slt!
