Bucket stackers

 What do you think of this for tackle storage? The bucket seat lid with storage and the bucket stackers. I think you can get 4 or 5 stackers in one bucket. Third and fourth items from the left.

If you can make sure they are secure and nothing will come out in a tip over they would work great.

Only problem I see with buckets is they tip over easily. Especially on a boat, they may slide all over the place and then tip over.

I personally prefer the plastic organizer boxes.



I have a few of these in various sizes, and you can even go to an arts and crafts store and pick up a few of them.  

But I do use a bucket for surf fishing.

 If you put heavy items on the bottom like sinkers I don't think it would be able to tip.

I use plastic buckets on my boat for seats for the crew. I fill the bucket 1/4 full with water and put a bucket seat on top. This helps to keep the bucket from tipping. I have had them tip when they are empty. Have had one tip with water because the guys sitting on it set the hook like a mad man and leaned back too far. Just shows, they also provide entertainment. The guys got a bit wet.

They also do not take up a whole lot of room like a BIG AZZ CHAIR WOULD. Right Rod.

We use to use them when we fished the Wall in Oawego for Salmon. Never had a problem, we made a coushioned seat for the top and the stackers inside, Sinkers on the bottom for stability.

Certainly limitless in there use.However,on occasion , they will tip over in rough seas or with fat arses sitting on them.But thats the fun.
Great for the surf w bait.

Looks like it might be a good idea.

I have a plastic file storage box with the front cut off and slide in about a dozen of the plastic storage boxes like Jeff suggested.  Bungees across the front to hold the bins in.  Sits in the truck nice and stores nicely on the garage shelves.

The one all the way on the right looks like it's be good for storing sinkers. Otherwise, I'd go for regular tackle boxes to keep expensive hooks and lures somewhat dry.

Plano makes a clear double sided tackle box with a handle on the short side...fits right in a 5 gal bucket. It's what I take on PB trips.
