Is there anything out there? Fluke maybe?

there is always a few resident stripers but as paul has said in other threads there metabolism is slower and your best bet will be small 3/0 or 4/o hooks on highlow rigs with small bits of clam other than that there is plenty of skates which can be fun and there is the occasional dog. i was out in beginning of this month and had 2 striper they were shorts but just proof there are some still around and it beats sitting at home for me ya kno

I might take a stroll on the beach, just to see it this time of they year, get familiar with driving on the beach when it isn't populated, find out where the air is, stuff like that.

Just got back from the beach. Man, what a nice day! Will post pictures once I can host them.

I didn't actually fish. I wanted to just get a feel for the beach, where the access roads are, where the air is etc. Also, I'm not a fan of tackle and a baby. He has to do what I'm doing, and that's not cool  ;)

Great pics!  Fox look healthy again.  They got some weird disease or mange, not sure, and they all looked sickly and ill.  It killed off a lot of the population out there.

It's not cool now b/c he is still young...BUT it will be cool when he can stand right next to you fishing on his own ;) ;D.  A moment you won't every forget!

They are around, all you have to do is go and get um.  If you are waiting for people to tell you they are catching this time of year it ain't gona happen.

It is just like fishing in the summer only think small and you will have to be more patient than usual.  Forget the lures and go strictly salted clams.

Happy Catching

Paul

The pictures make me want to get out on the sand and hear the waves  t^

Add to the list-
Bug spray - it's more important than bait sometimes at IBSP
Coffee and donuts (it's not just for the cops, us fireman like to snack too)
Water - a jug of rinse water is nice besides the drinking water
Shovel - the folding or short shovel is great for storage, but I found the hard way that if you really need the shovel, a full size one is best, even if you cut the handle down a little
Planning - try out the jack, tow strap, etc. one day to make sure it'll work with your truck on the sand.  Figure out and try tow points ahead of time.

My truck was already buried in mud unfortunately. So I know where some tow points are. I really want the folding shovel, but I have a big "back yard size" spade shovel. Worse case is if it takes up too much room in the back of my truck, I'll put a bold through it and put it in my rod rack! When I drove on the beach, I just wanted to test it out, cause I've never driven on the beach before, and get a tire pressure that I like, and learn to not take sharp turns and get stuck.  hhppy

Deflate those tires down under 20 to about 15 psi. That's about what works for me in my Durango. All that stuff that is required including a long strap for towing just in case  ;)
