Scupper Repair

A few week back, water started to come up onto the deck through one one of the scuppers in the deck. After the trip, while cleaning the boat, I checked the scuppers from the outside and found one of the rubber flaps was broken off, the one remaining was deteriorated as well. After attempting to locate replacement flaps with no luck, and not wanting to replace both complete scupper units, which is what everyone wanted to sell me, including the boat maker, Seaswirl, I decided to contact the manufacturer of the scuppers, Attwood Marine.

It was late at night, so I sent them an E-Mail inquirey as to where I could purchase the replacement flaps. Two days later I received a response stating that they could sent me replacements ,free of charge,free shipping, they just wanted to know what size I needed, so they could send the proper flaps.

Well, I received them, 2 sets, totally free! I installed a set on the boat, and have an extra set for a few years down the road.

Attwood Marine has really provided me with exceptional service above and beyond. If anyone out there needs to replace the rubber flappers on their Attwood Scuppers,(Common on many makes of boats), contact them for some free replacement flaps.    <'((((><

Replaced mine a few years ago with the below scupper....work a lot better. The ball pushes into the scupper hole and prevents water from coming in, it just floats out of the way to let water out.   Easy to take off to clean

I'll keep those in mind for when these two sets of rubber flappers are toast. Did you have to change out the whole scupper fitting/assembly, or do the fit inside the existing hardware? <'((((><

The exhistin moutnt is good yu justtake off the outside rig an scupper and the ewmout screws right in. 10 min job.

Can even be done with boat in water

Glad I was checking out the older topics. I pulled my hair out trying to find just the rubber valve's with no luck. Per this thread, I called Attwood and they are on the way!. Offered them my credit card numbers and they refused-----on them they told me. Great company.

I think these are the best, I had them on my boat also. They must be kept clean to function properly.

I am either replacing my (6) rubber flaps or changing to the ball type scupper, but I have heard complaints about the ball types making noise???  Anybody have any info on that?

I had no noise issues, they were one of the best things I installed on my aquasport.
