Tom and I had the Roosters out to the Striper grounds this morning, had the area off the Highlands Bridge all to ourselves. In twenty-one feet of water with the outgoing tide and calm seas we found very little bird life to help us locate the fish. Casting 1½ oz. Hopkins flat spoons off the bottom I soon had the first Striper at 34". Tom soon followed with a 29" Striper. There were many fish that came unbuttoned near the boat, some Stripers following the lure right to the boat without a hookup. The yellow-eyed demons started showing up and we left the area. The wind was from the WNW at 10 to 15, which made for calm seas and the bright sun made for a pleasant morning. We headed in by noon after exploring for our favorite flatfish the Fluke finding none.
