Irish Ayes Afternoon Bassing 6-2-10
« on: June 02, 2010, 09:48:39 PM »
Had BobG, Jim, his daughter Jackie and Jackie's friend Mike on board this afternoon for a late afternoon trip.

BobG and I got there early, fuel the boat and went bunker hunting. Didn't take long to find them, right outside of the inlet. Got a dozen bunker when Jim called and said they were early and were waiting at the dock. We headed in and picked them up and off we went again.

Went back to gathering bait and after filling the live well hit our first bass hole.

Jim hooked up with the first bass about five minutes into our drift. He won the fight and put a 32 pound bass on the deck and into the box.

Had several more runoffs and two hook ups that came unbuttoned right near the boat, caused by operator error. Don't give it any slack Mike!!! Oops, sorry. ;D

Hit another spot and picked up another thirty pounder for the box. Had several more misses and heard a CG safety bulletin about fog. Reported the fog was at Manasquan Inlet and heading northerly. That was our clue to get out of Dodge and that we did.

Got to the SR Inlet seconds before the fog.

Back to the dock and cleaned up by 8 o'clock.

I stayed and Dodge..... Needless to say I couldnt fish the spot I wanted to for fear of someone running me over  cfzd.  Fog rolled in real quick in the Squan Inlet, came through the canal...

The trouble with fishing is it was better before you got there, and after you left.
When in doubt...exaggerate

Nice job Joe!  t^ t^
Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.
