GOALS!
« on: June 09, 2010, 10:08:21 PM »
SO what was everyone else goals for this year.  To start the season mine was to get a striper and I accomplished that (actually have 7 so far from the surf).  Now i up that goal to a keeper (yet to get one of those from the surf).  Also, to become an overall better fishermen.  Learn more knots, what fish like to eat, how to fish more effectively for certian fish as well, like fluke and sea bass.  We will see how that works out.  But what is everyone else's, if any   >:D

The trouble with fishing is it was better before you got there, and after you left.
When in doubt...exaggerate

I'd like to finally get a double digit fluke. PB so far is eight pounds. Had several double digits caught on my boat, just wasn't done by me, yet.  TT^

Other than that, I am thrilled when I can put someone else on their PB fish of any species.  t^

Would love a double digit fluke already. Love to see the wife boat one too.

For blackfish, want to see both the wife and I beat our personal bests which both are at just under 15lbs (an ounce for me and three for T)

A porgy drop-n-reel slaughter trip for the wife too as the few times she's gone it's always been a tough pick.  Think this season gonna be good as they are THICK in LISound and already in Raritan Bay.

Never caught a cod so that would be good too. TT^

double diget fluke, and a 30 lbs striper that may have to wait till the fall.
Fish out of Toms River NJ.
Call Nick for open boat, 973-417-5756, or on Channel 68.

I don't get hung up on size and numbers of fish.

My goals are usually to try something new or something I haven't done in a while.

I'd like to go to NC for big redfish in September this year.

I also want to concentrate more on bucktailing fluke than I have in the past.

1-Get my boat ship shape.  Needed to repower to do it, but succefully completed.

2-Catch a spring striper.   I'm pretty solid in the fall without the blues getting in the way, but I have never done well in the spring.  Thanks to Luna, I finally got off the schnide and caught my first couple spring keepers.

3-Hit the water at least 20 times this season.  I'm at 8 so far, should break this easily.

4-get my boat in a slip.  Money money money money  rgmn rgmn
The cure for everything is salt water: sweat, tears, and the sea.
