On 6/17 I ran a 3 man all day wreck trip with Russel,John,and Doug. The west wind was blowing when we set off and only blew harder as the day wore on. It appears that a new body of fish have moved onto the grounds as the keeper to short ratio was the highest of the season. Plenty of action but you had to pick over many fish to get the keepers. The guys fished hard in less than favorable conditions and managed to box close to 50 keepers when the wind shifted to the North West and we had to come in early. A few drifts in the bay produced 28 fluke form 12" to 17" but no keepers.
Today 6/18 I had planned to take a day off and relax. What better way to relax than to go beat up on the seabass. I checked out a few areas that were unproductive the last few weeks and they are now showing great sign. Like night and day. Where these fish come from who knows but when they show they light up the recorder. A nice relaxing time with a good friend and 50 tasty seabass in the box is what I call a good day.
