Today I had my good friend Lou and his son Mike out for a fun day of fishing. Lou is a good friend and we have fished together many times. With the weather forcast all over the board the last few days we had planned to just mess around in the bay. The 5am weather update said perfect ocean conditions and that called for a change in plans. I grab some numbers out of the black book of some bottom that I have not been on in years and some others that I needed to lay out. Lou and Mike said they would be more than happy to help "get a read" of the life on these spots. Plenty of quality seabass to 19" today along with blackfish and a handful of jumbo porgies. A nice relaxing day, I even got to sit back and enjoy a fine cigar as the guys worked the seabass over. I was real happy with life in most areas and added 2 more summer time blackfish hot spots to the book. We called it a short day at 1pm with 42 seabass in the box and left them biting. The best part of the day was when they took all the fish and I did not have to clean any. A fine day spent with a good friend.
