With the forcasted high winds today I had to cancell an ocean trip so I grabbed my pop and headed to the Manasquan river for some light tackle fluking. A stop at the mouth of the canal(bayside) was very disappointing (it sucked) with just a few crabs. Then ran strait to the east side of the Rail Road trestle and hammered them. Fished 2 hours either side of the high and left them bitting. We fished for action and a keeper would be bonus. I had to email Rod for a judgment call on a nice fluke with a bite taken out of it. LOL
Tossed it back and wound up with one nice 20incher to go with piles of shorts. It felt nice to bend the ultralight trout rods again.
