Fishguts 7/1 Barnegat Bay /ocean wreck
« on: July 01, 2010, 09:08:45 PM »
Today I fished out and around Barnegat. Due to the forcast of high winds my charter opted to not make the trip up from Cape May. Rather than waste a nice day I loaded up and headed out solo around 10am. I hit OCC for a pick of a half dozen short fluke at the bottom of the tide. A few stops closer to the inlet had wind against tide with a nice crab bite but not much else. Needing a few hours of tide to get the fish snappin I headed out in calm seas to some inshore snags. Tons of life and a very good bite with some quaility mixed in. I grabbed  a 25 seabass limit with fish up to 18" to give some friends  some fillets and headed back to the bay. In the bay I did one nice long drift for good action boating a dozen fluke and missing a few more. Hung one good fish at 21"inches and called it a day.
