Packanack Lake Fishing 7/3 (PICS)
« on: July 04, 2010, 12:26:01 AM »
Well, grabbed a 12 pack and 2 dozen shiners and headed off for small lake in my town of Wayne. Met my sisters boyfreind Marcus at his house so we can drag the 10 foot Basslender that I sold him last year, on the trailer, down to the lake from his house. Few blocks, not that bad. He has no hitch to trailer it, so he paid for a slip at the dock there on the lake, finally got the spot today after waiting and waiting...

Unloaded the boat, and he walked the trailer few blocks down to the slip, and I took the boat over there and met him. Got on the boat, and we were trolling in hope of largemouths at around 5:15... 2 rods out with shiners in no time, didnt take long for the first fish. 12 inch White Perch. Then another, then another, then another. Then I hooked up to a 12 1/2 inch crappie, my biggest crappie personally. Caught a few more of those, then marcus hooked up with a small largemouth, under a pound. Made a couple moves around the broken trees and lilly pads in the water and nothin...

Headed back toward the dock, so we can get off at hit Lakeside Pub for a few slices of pizza and some beer... on our way there, it looked like bunker was everywhere in this little corner of the lake near some sandy little kids beach...... took off my weight, tossed my shiner out... fish on!!! A white perch..... it was a buffet for white perch if you enjoy eating them.... Switched over to some spinner baits and rapalas, just couldnt get away from the dam perch, they hit anything! So I went back to a LARGE shiner.... maybe 1/2 second after it hit the water, I knew I had the mother load of that group of fish.. sweetttttttt, fightin and fightin and fightin in.... got em on the boat, estimated 5 lb largemouth! What a fat belly on her..... unhooked her and she was released for another day...

Pizza time it was. Few pepperoni slices and some white slices, and a few budweisers and I was ready to go for catfish....

Back out on the water around 9 PM. Hot dog cuts on 4 rods, center of lake, deepest part maybe 18 feet? Dont have a gps fishfinder..... Waited an hour and 25 minutes, not a bite. Just a couple nice firework shows from some nearby houses.....

Called it a night at 10 30, got boat out, tarped it up, locked up gate... and home for some more beers. Now im hungry and am way to lazy to get up and find some food....

Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.
