Cock Robin- Friday to Tuesday Report

Sorry gang for the super late reports....no excuses other than we are FISHING, CATCHING and HAVING A BLAST WITH FIREWORKS and ICE CREAM!!

(and I'm exhausted!)

Friday (7/2)- DAY-
this was the FIRST of what I hope is MANY BACKLASH FREE FRIDAYS!! This means you KEEP YOUR THUMB on the LINE and DO NOT ALLOW BACKLASHES!! Capt Howard has a GREAT pictorial aboard the Jamaica and I want a copy!

Fishing was GOOD and we ALMOST had a perfect BLACKLASH FREE FRIDAY...perhaps this week!!

Friday (7/2)- NIGHT-
UNBELIEVABLY GREAT FISHING. Fish On from the get go. Capt Rich Falcone is a NIGHT BLUEFISH SAVANT

Saturday (7/3)- DAY-
SLOW start but what a FINISH!!! BLUEFISH put the feed bags on late and bellied up to the buffet table!!

Saturday (7/3)- NIGHT-
Capt Rich and crew tried for a repeat but the BLUES weren't having it. Fishing was GREAT but not the frantic pace of Friday.

Sunday (7/4)- DAY-
HAPPY 4th of JULY!! Slow, steady pick of BLUES all day long. You knew you went fishing but you had time to enjoy the beautiful day in between a few lulls of activity.

Sunday (7/4)- NIGHT
FIREWORKS and ICE CREAM!! What an enjoyable night!! Little southerly breeze made anchoring a chore but who cared!! Our "parking spot" gave us a view of fireworks to the south as far as Seaside and Asbury Park to the north!!! And then we had a front row ticket to the BIGGIST DISPLAY at POINT PLEASANT!! and we had ICE CREAM!!!

Monday (7/5)- DAY
slowest catching day in a while. jigs early, bait all day but you had to put your time in on the rail to put numbers in the boat. An AWESOME crowd made the day GREAT!!

Tuesday (7/6)- DAY
thats today, right!! Back to GOOD fishing....bait out performed jig although Camp Cock Robin stars Justin and Stephen had all aboard entertained with the BLUES crashing their POPPERS on the flat seas!!! (ahhh, to be young enough to realize catching 3 or 4 blues in an exciting manner is as thrilling as limiting out by slinging blues over the rail)

Justin had our firts BONE of the year and Stephen, upon hearing our words to the wise to be careful of dragging jigs as we were over a wreck, promptly jigged up a COD!! Truly two stars in the making.

oh, I gotta tell you....LONG TIME Cock Robin friend and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, Tim LaPella WON HIS FIRST POOL EVER!!! and that was after a night of KARAOKE on the boardwalk!!
