Fishguts 7/7 7/8 Seabass/Fluke
« on: July 08, 2010, 07:26:42 PM »
On 7/7 I had the 3 man charter with Guy,Tom,and Joe. Having never bottom fished before they had hoped to get some action and a chance at some tasty fillets then head to the bay for some light tackle fluking. It did not take long for the guys to have the rods bending with many nice seabass. After 2.5 hours of steady pulling of a mix of shorts and keepers the group had 30 nice fish in the box. The action really pick up in the bay ;D. The fluke bite was insane with many double headers and they stopped counting at 50 releases. One tagged fish was landed but it looked like a new tag so we left it in place.Guy put the hook to the only keeper a 3.1 pound 21inch fish. A great day with a great bunch of guys. Today it back out for an all day wreck trip with Steve and Pat. The guys put the hammer to the seabass and had limits by noon.. A stop in the bay on the way home produced very good action but no keeper fluke. It sure felt good getting cleaned up early for a change. Light winds and great fishing is about as good as it gets.Steve's top knucklehead was 3.2 lbs and 19.5". Check out the gallery section on my site for more pictures of all our catches.

Good report, t^
Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.
