Spearfish 7-11-10 Fluking
« on: July 12, 2010, 12:31:48 PM »
Tough day today.  My dad caught a 18.5" on the first drift, and then it was a long time before the next keeper.  I worked my way out the Sandy Hook Channel towards Scotland, with a lot of dogfish caught, some sea robins, and some short fluke.  I have a nice welt on the back of my knee where a dogfish tail whipped me.  Found a nice pod of dolphins crushing the bunker too and tried to get a pic.  Late in the day I found a nice hump and we pulled 2 more keepers and some sea bass.  Total for the day was 3 keeper fluke and 5 seabass.  Several short fish were also caught and released.
